Sky Orchards [Forge] Mod 1.12.2 is an original mod as well as a creation for Bacon Donut’s Sky Factory III modpack. It contains tree types for mod pack makers and some items.

About Sky Orchards Mod

It has resources from Dynamically Configurable Trees.

Trees spawn at random on small floating sky islands throughout the world. You can configure them for various dimensions, rarity, and other settings.

The mod is also a design that is a great companion for the Bonsai Trees mod. It can give you a special and delightful way to supply resources.

(Ore works as a loose term to explain a “type” of the tree, for example, Redstone, Bacon, String…)

Trees have Ore Logs and Ore Leaves. The leaves will drop Ore Acorns and the logs can drop Ore Resin with Vanilla Oak Logs.

You can plant and grow Ore Saplings the same as vanilla trees.

It’s feasible to configure Ore Leaves to make them drop other items.

Another block that exists in the mod is Ore Amber.

Ore Acorns are consumable. You can cook them, and change them into Roasted Ore Acorns.

Items and blocks in the mod don’t have recipes by default. In fact, the mod is intended to operate in modpacks that generate the recipes. You should choose CraftTweaker for the existing function.

By default, a few Vanilla Ore-based trees come pre-configured to offer examples.

Note! You need a Full restart for every Tree or Island addition to pop up.

How to create a Tree through the config file:

To add your custom trees within Sky Orchards, you can reset some sections. For instance, you can add a new tree named Cottonwood like this:


The syntax is:


modName:itemName#amount3metaData#dropChance, r, g, b

name is what you call the tree (cottonwood in the example)

modName:itemName is the item you want leaves to drop (Minecraft String in the example)

amount is the number of items you expect to drop (1 in the example)

metaData is the metadata/damage value of the item to drop (0 in the example)

dropChance is a value of 1:(number) that the item will drop (4 in the example).

(you can supplement the words null or unused if you don’t like a drop)

r, g, b stands for three numbers between 0 and 255 for an RGB color for the tree.

(255,245,255 in the example) – google an RGB color picker to select the color easier.

How to configure Worldgen for Sky Islands

You can manage some options in Sky Orchards to set up floating islands that are customizable in the config:

Floating Islands Should Generate – true or false to switch on and off island generation.

Smallest Raadius Islands Should Generate – builds the smallest size that an island should be (no less than 1).

Largest Radius Islands Should Generate – forms the largest size that an island should be (4 by default).

(1:Amount) The chance that an Island Will Generate in Chunk – (150 by default).

If you choose the island generation feature, you can customize the island to include your trees. Besides, it can create in certain dimensions. Everything can occur at a range of height, how frequently comparable to other tree island types, and what blocks the island is made up for.

For instance, you wish the example “Cottonwood tree” you made above to appear in the Overworld on an island of Dirt Blocks and a Top layer of Grass blocks between a height of Y20 and y200.


The syntax is: *this should all be on 1 line (spoilers cut it up)



dimlnt is the dimension ID to cause in (0 in the example is the Overworld)

orename is the name you assigned to your custom tree in Sky Orchards (cottonwood in the example)

minHeight is the lowest level the island can result in Y level (20 in the example)

maxHeight is the highest level the island can make in Y level (200 in the example)

spawnWeight is the frequency corresponding to other island types (4 in the example)

modname:block is the block that you select for the island’s top layer (Grass in the example)

blockMeta is the block’s metadata that you pick for the island’s the top layer (0 in the example)

*And the same one more time for the remaining part of the island’s blocks under the top layer.

There is a configuration option to shape the number of acorns dropped after breaking leaves.

Set to 1:3 by default.

Sky Orchards is a mod that is useful for your farming in-game by releasing resource trees.
